Forteen years ago, before there was an LX Factory, there was a canteen. It opened two years before any investment in the area in an old factory building. It opened to serve the workers of the soon to be relocated typography. Slowly but surely, other clients came to the canteen, aiding in the transformation of the menu and the location to the restaurant that you could visit today.

Located at the entrance of Lx Factory, in Alcantara, being the first building to the left, Cantina Lx is an establishment with a rich history which specializes in Portuguese cuisine. A menu with diverse options for appetizers, main courses featuring meats, several types of fish and vegetarian options. It also has deserts and a bar.

However, the culinary highlight of Cantina LX is the bread. Made from a thicker mix of barley and wheat, the bread is made wholesale in front of the customers, using a dedicated oven. In fact, this oven plays a role in several different dishes, enriching these with a different flavor.

As for the decor, this place has a unique feeling . Reutilizing many of the objects from the locations past , it creates a unique environment. There are several , at first seemingly, random objects located around the restaurant that fit into a unique mix. Most of the decorations , all of the tables and some of the chairs; were either part of the old typography (most pieces preserved, others restored ) or were donated to the establishment, giving it a seasoned, yet cozy feel. Telling, through a dozen details, a story from another time.
