If you are visiting Lisbon these days, you could leave the driver’s place. By bus, tramway, train or metro, the city is a stop away from you. Here are some suggestions for how to use Lisbon’s public transport.

How can you arrive at the Lisbon Congress Centre?

During RDE, buses, tramways and trains will be your best friends. To arrive at the Lisbon Congress Centre (LCC), you can take one of these transports:

“Hosp. Egas Moniz - Av. India” stop - 450 metres to LCC

You also have the Cascais line, part of the CP train services. This is a route by the river - so you can enjoy the view and the beaches. It connects Cais do Sodré to Cascais. On your way, you will pass through Alcântara-Mar (1,1 km to LCC) and Belém (1,4 km to LCC).

Tickets and prices

Zapping” card is the best option if you are in Lisbon for a few days. You charge it with an amount and it can be used for all transports in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. According to each service, a specific value is discounted in your card.

For example, in Carris (buses and tramways), each trip costs 1,35€. In the metro it is 1,34€ and in CP (trains) it’s 1,90€.

You can buy it in kiosks in each metro station. You can do the same in some train stations (such as Cais do Sodré). English language is available.

Suggestions and interfaces

Exploring the Lisbon centre and eastern side is easy with the metro. You can use it to go to different places such as Parque das Nações (where was held Expo 98, near the “Oriente” station), Avenida da Liberdade (a luxury street in Lisbon, “Avenida” station) or the multicultural centre of the city, Martim Moniz.

At night, the LX Factory is waiting for you. Take a break from transports: you can go on a walk - just 700 metres from LCC!

These are the main interfaces in Lisbon:

  • - Cais do Sodré - metro (green line), CP train (Cascais line) and boats (to Montijo and Cacilhas)

  • - Entrecampos - metro (yellow line) + CP train (Sintra and Azambuja lines)
