It's impossible that the artistic, free and sensitive spirit of the city of Lisbon doesn't influence those who live there. Tiago Correia is a young fado singer who grew up in the capital's fado houses, surrounded by the portuguese guitar. He is about to release his first album: “E decididamente”.

Tiago Correia // Rodolfo Contreiras
Tiago Correia has been passionate about fado since he was a kid, with his destiny drawn from an early age, he participated in the TV show “Uma Canção Para Ti” and in the contest “I was born for Fado” – from which he won, opening doors for greater exhibition, such as the participation in the musical “Fado História de Um Povo”, by Filipe La Feria.
Fernando Farinha and Alfredo Marceneiro are his main idols and he assertively affirms that minor fado is the “father of all fados”. Tiago is a born poet who believes that fado “lives from the word” and is convinced that it was his mother's words that traced his fado (destiny): “On the day I was born my mother grabbed me and the first thing she he told me was “Son, you have your destiny marked”.
Tiago Correia, with 24 years-old, has just released a single, called Rua da Rosa (Rose Street), which will be part of his first album, released on October 23rd. “I am the young man, with an old soul, who embraces the past and kisses the roots”, says Tiago. The album was born from the “will of wanting to pay tribute” to all the idols of fado and Tiago Correia's life. The fadista from Montijo (city on the Lisbon’s suburbs), called his first album “E decididamente” (And definitely): “And definitely I am a fadista, and definitely I am a lyricist, and definitely I want to honor them (his idols).”
“E decididamente” will be soon available on Spotify.
